Khanyisa meets Somopane, a bull of the Jabulani herd

And Four become Five

Khanyisa had the pleasure of meeting Somopane, a great and gentle bull of the Jabulani herd.

He spent the morning with Lundi, Jabulani, Setombe and Klaserie and little Khanyisa, and it was such a peaceful and calm morning for all.

Khanyisa dashed over to her mom and the rest of the elephants, and Klaserie quickly joined them, followed by Somopane who slowly strolled over and said hello with his trunk.

It was clear that Khanyisa felt very comfortable in his presence, she kept making her way to him and he calmly allowed her to discover his underbelly, it was so sweet to see!

Klaserie (Setombe's daughter) seems to have taken quite an interest in Khanyisa, and had a little playful moment or two, which you will no doubt enjoy watching as much as we did. You can see Khanyisa is becoming a little bit more at ease with Klaserie now and is starting to spend more time with her too.

Lundi, however, remains her significant mother-figure and continuously returns to her for comfort and reassurance.

It was so great to see them all together. Khanyisa is in a good space and seems energised after each interaction with her new family.
