Fire On The Lake in 1910 a flaming disaster became the first Great Lakes shipwreck covered live.
In 1910 a disastrous fire broke out aboard a Great Lakes vessel. It became the first ever mid-lake shipwreck to be covered in the media as it happened. This was all thanks to a new-fangled technology called "wireless."
This video covers that story. Of course it is so obscure that very few images actually exist- so I had to create a bunch of my own to illustrate the story.
