Oliver Wendell Holmes Snr, and Boston, Harvard Square 1920, "The Height of the Ridiculous" F547 a

A very old and interesting film from the early 1920s describing the life of the American Poet Oliver Wendell Holmes (OWH, Snr: 1809–1894), and with an acted recital of the poem "The Height of the Ridiculous". OWH was very popular in his day, and thought of now as one of the great American Writers. This footage also shows key street scenes from Boston, Harvard Square, the paddle steamer 'Robert Fulton', and Harvard University from the time.

I think this is a film made by Charles Urban, Kineto Co. Released: April 2, 1922 as part of the “Great American Authors” series

I find it fascinating whatever the source, to see things from 100 years ago.
