"Bakelite" by Bakelite Ltd, a 1930s Documentary by Publicity Films Ltd C1936, F827
A surprisingly rare copy of a promotional documentary commissioned by the company: Bakelite Ltd, some time in the 1930s. It was created by "Publicity Films Ltd" (no other credits or date). This shows the manufacturing processes, and products produces with Bakelite plastic...the first true synthetic plastic and used extensively in the 1930s/40s/50s, though originally patented in 1909.
The film is a little bit ropey for the first few minutes, but settles down.
