Al Badham on Scratch Building O Train Cars

Al Badham built 98 scratch built train cars over his lifetime. Mostly in O scale, and in many gauges, On2, On3, On30, O standard and the ODD On18!

We had a plan to do a show (or two) on Als models when he finished his 100the car. But he died in his sleep shortly after building the 98th car.

The "O Scale Guys" were (and still are) a loose group of guys who came together to build an O scale modular railroad in the 1980's The last "hangers on" are Steve Strebel, Don Henriksen and myself with Mike Neiderhauser and Don "Boss Man" Shaefer still about and still dropping in.

Decades later and 3 modular and 2 club layouts later the O Scale Guys no longer share a railroad, but each has their own "thing". Steve now rebuilding the great O scale layout he started dismantling, Don working mostly at the bench building On3 and large scale locomotives and cabooses, "Boss Man" collecting O scale brass and Mike collecting O standard and dreaming of a layout. AND us, screwing around at garagemahal and working toward a Garden Railroad.
