天津爆炸居民抗议现场 Fury in Tianjin one week after explosions

People seeking compensation for homes damaged in the huge chemical explosions in the Chinese city of Tianjin have gathered outside a hotel where officials were holding a news conference.

There is growing anger among residents who are demanding compensation. Thousands had to evacuate their homes after toxic chemicals were detected in the air following the blasts. There are ongoing concerns about the water and air quality in the area.

The blasts went off in a warehouse storing several hundred tonnes of sodium cyanide - far more than permitted.
