PM needs to get ‘really tough’ with state premiers in relation to border restrictions
Sky News contributor Jane Marwick says Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison is going to have to get tough and make a change on border restrictions following the tragic death of one of a mother’s twin babies.
Anger has been sparked after a mother from the New South Wales North Coast lost her unborn child after seeking medical treatment in Sydney as she was worried it would take too long for a border exemption into Queensland.
Her family waited 16 hours for a flight to Sydney and another six to seven hours for emergency surgery, only to find out scans revealed one of her twins had died.
“None of us can understand what that family is going through,” Ms Marwick told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“It is absolutely tragic and something needs to change.
“The Prime Minister’s going to have to get really tough.”
