When people first start a blog, they’re wide-eyed and doing everything they can to see if it’s a legitimate opportunity. They see a guy like myself with a successful online business talk about blogging, finally get the courage to start, and they publish their first blog post. Which is amazing, when someone does this they’re finally breaking the constraints of society and becoming a true entrepreneur.

The problem though is that most of those same people who were brave enough to start a blog end up failing for a number of different reasons and in today’s video, I want to talk about what those reasons are and how you can prevent yourself from having those same pitfalls.

A little Background About me - A quick story

• Four years ago I started a blog myself (Not OneHourProfessor.com - this is another website)
•Focused on helping a group of people that had a specific problem
- Examples would be:
- People who don’t save enough money
- People who want to start a successful online business
• I was able to grow that blog into a full blown informational website
- Has had over 15 Million people visit
- Has made over $337,000 in Adsense alone
- Screenshare
- Now I have a portfolio of websites that generate $20,000/month (See income reports on website)
• Not telling you this to brag…
- Proving to you I know what I’m talking about

Why Most Bloggers Fail

1) Not Consistent
a) Be consistent - Have a schedule and stick to it
2) Not Authentic
a) Be yourself - no one can replicate you
3) Have a Bad Website Host
a) Customer support is everything
b) Tech can be overwhelming
c) DO NOT choose Bluehost or Hostgator
i) Only recommended because they pay a lot for people to recommend them
d) Get a Good Host - I prefer Siteground

4) Not Patient Enough
a) Be willing to work a full year without making money
b) Can make money before this, but 12 months is a good timeframe
5) Not Willing to Invest in Your Business
a) Not an expense, it’s an investment
b) Invest a little bit
6) Shiny Object Syndrome
a) Focus on one thing solely for a year
b) DO NOT DEVIATE
7) Not Writing For Your Audience
a) Talk to your audience! Find out what they need and help them
8) Not (Really) an Expert
a) Don’t start in an area you know very little about
b) This is why people say to follow a passion
9) Not link building
a)Build links with guest posts
