Recently I made a video all about how I can’t stand “gurus” who are really just scammers in disguise. I said how it irked me how they sensationalized everything and how people shouldn’t trust them. The video was well-received, but then….there was an individual who basically challenged me on what I was saying about online gurus entirely. He basically asked why online gurus teach anything at all if they could easily get rich by simply doing everything that they preach. It’s a good point and one that I wanted to address, so I’ve decided to make this video about it.

Make sure you watch until the end as I’ll show you what the actual message was he posted and explain why I teach even though I can make money more easily elsewhere.

• I don't think over $200k a year is minor success personally. I've followed a lot of people in this area and not many people are doing that like I am, so I think I have some rep built up.
• I'm a college professor by trade. I've taught for 8 years and I genuinely enjoy teaching others.
• To be honest, I think that doing what I was doing before is easier than what I'm doing now and I was making really good money and growing. This is extremely competitive.
• From a personal perspective:
- I want to create a community of other folks who are working hard to do this because other entrepreneurs inspire me more than anything else.
- I want to be the person that other people thank for changing their lives and helping them achieve freedom in their lives and work. Right now, it's pretty thankless. But every once in awhile I get someone who thanks me for the work I do and that makes it worth it.
• From a business perspective
- I wanted to challenge myself and my skillset to expand beyond just creating content blogs/websites that made money relying on SEO. While it pays, and it works, it's risky to not diversify. Case in point is the display ad issue I just talked about in my last income report.
- This whole thing is MY brand. It's not going to be crushed with one Google or YouTube update. It's further reaching than that, which helps me sleep at night.

• To be 100% clear, I still run my portfolio of websites and intend on always doing that. How can I talk about this stuff if I'm not in the trenches?
