70000 'Britannia' takes 'Steam Dreams' to Chester - 10th May 2025
A very sunny Saturday greeted 70000 'Britannia' at the head of a 'Steam Dreams' charter from Horsham to Chester.
After being diesel hauled from Horsham to Acton, the Brit took over for the sprint up the WCML to Crewe, and onwards to Chester. We view 70000 crossing the Ashby Canal on the approach to Nuneaton.
With the prolonged warm weather and other steam charters being diesel assisted in recent weeks, there was great debate over whether the Brit would run solo. As can be seen, the 7MT was let loose on her 11 coach load. Hope you enjoy!
