The Bluebell Railway 'Giants of Steam' Gala 31/10/15

Bluebell Railway and Gala are not common words to find in the same sentence in recent years, however that has all changed in 2015. With the return to steam of the Maunsell societies Q Class and the completion of 73082 Camelots overhaul, it was a chance for the railway to re-visit the giants of steam gala to which the bluebell had built up a reputation of in the early 2000's. Gussed engines were announced to be Icons of Steam's 70000 Britannia and the NRM's 925 Cheltenham (based at the Mid Hants) however a last minute change was made resulting of the failure of 70000 on a Railtour the previous week, meaning that 4468 Bittern was to replace it. This would be the first visit of an A4 to the bluebell in preservation, so not to be missed! Weather was stunning as usual and the locos were turned out beautifully, and the railway was packed.
