Spring Valley: Crash Leads to Unexpected DUI Arrest 11262020

The male driver of the Acura was hit by the driver of the Honda. The Acura went into the center divider and lost a rear wheel. The Honda went across all lanes and rolled, but landed on its’ wheels.

The 1st driver was not injured, but the 2nd driver received a cut to the head.
All parties involved were checked out, but none of them were transported for their injuries. DUI was not a factor in the crash.

Firefighters then noticed that a truck had stopped in the northbound #1 lane approx 125 yards, down the freeway from the accident. His lights were on, and cars were having to go around the truck. Firefighters alerted the CHP officers and when the CHP approached the truck, the male driver started to drive again.

The CHP pulled the male over and when speaking with him they became aware the man was intoxicated. Upon attempting to start a field sobriety test, the male refused and was arrested.
