Awakening Stem Cells with Vitamins/Cell, May 4, 2017 (Vol. 169, Issue 5)

Billions of blood cells die every day and need to be replaced by new ones. In this video, Andreas Trumpp shows that Vitamin A is a key signal that controls both the transition of hematopoietic stem cells from a "sleep-mode" state called dormancy to an active state and how Vitamin A metabolites may help to improve treatment of blood disorders and leukemias.
