FINALLY! India Gets Access To EARTH’s North Pole! #shorts

Recently, India and Russia concluded an important defence logistics agreement known as the Reciprocal Exchange of Logistic Support (RELOS). This agreement allows the armed forces of both countries to use each other’s military facilities for refuelling, repairs, supplies, and maintenance during joint exercises, training, or operations. It marks a new stage in India–Russia strategic cooperation.

A key outcome of the RELOS agreement is that India now gets access to Russian ports and facilities along the Northern Sea Route. This route runs along Russia’s Arctic coastline and connects Asia with Europe. Compared to traditional sea routes through the Suez Canal, the Northern Sea Route is much shorter and can significantly reduce travel time and fuel costs.

With this agreement, Indian naval ships and aircraft can operate from Russian Arctic ports when needed. This improves India’s long-range naval presence and gives it practical experience in Arctic waters, which are becoming more important due to climate change and increasing global trade activity in the region.

The Northern Sea Route is gaining global attention as melting Arctic ice is making it more navigable for longer periods each year. Access to this route strengthens India’s strategic and commercial interests, especially for future trade links with Europe and for energy cooperation with Russia.
