Richard Burns became the first ever English WRC Champion in the November of 2001, and it was a season where nobody wanted to win. Especially given how absolutely stacked the entry list was.

And knowing what happened next to him makes it rather bittersweet: Leaving Subaru, struggling in his first year at Peugeot, and then getting ill and passing away.

But at least he achieved his life ambition, and no one can take that from him.
