The Battle of Shiloh was a major moment in the American Civil War because of the high casualty rate. In this video, I depict the destructive fight for the peach orchard where the brigades of John Breckinridge engaged the brigades of Stephen Hurlbut. The peach orchard was a scene of horrific fighting as the Confederates launched numerous assaults against the Union lines and finally broke it once Albert Sidney Johnston personally led the Southerners into battle. However, this would also lead to the death of Johnston, when he became wounded in the attack.
