Youth Peace and Security in Africa

Join us in another episode of the Africa Matters webinar series where we zone in on Youth Peace and security in Africa and how the UNSCR 2250 Pillars can be valuable in YPS in Africa.

This conversation will be led by Christine Odera, she holds a degree in International Relations (Peace and Conflict studies) from United States International University-Africa USIU-A. She is the country coordinator for Commonwealth Youth Peace Ambassadors Network (CYPAN) and the program manager for Schools for international Training in Kenya that focuses on Global health and human rights.

She is a champion in promoting intercultural and interfaith education and dialogue in Kenya. She was part of the youth taskforce during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) that pushed for heads of government to adopt United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250 (UNSCR2250) On Youth and Security. She helped youth in Cameroon form the first of a kind youth mediators’ network to aid in influencing the peace process in Cameroon. She has been in different leadership positions locally and internationally and continues to influence peace policies in Kenya.
