The Panic of 1873

The Panic of 1873 was a major economic crisis during the 1870s that affected the U.S. and Europe. It was mainly due to high levels of financial speculation and the rapid growth of railroads. This video discusses the causes and effects of the Panic, including a brief overview on the Great Railroad Strike of 1877.
