Glider Climbing Above Dune's Arrakis? Looks Like it
Most people don't understand that gliders don't just glide down. They easily climb in rising air currents with their long and thin wings. Being able to climb allows gliders to travel many hundreds of miles/kilometers in a single flight. This video is an example of a glider riding uprising air and going up well over 1,000 feet per minute. That is a climb rate faster than what most small airplanes can achieve. This is the last part of a 750km record glider flight with amazing skies and a very fun and easy final glide with not a worry in the world. The glider is an ASW27 and the airport I am landing at is Nephi, Utah. I will be making a video of this entire flight that will be like watching Dances with Wolves movie twice if you are crazy enough to watch the whole thing. This was my first flight back in the glider after an unwanted vacation away from gliding so it made this flight even more special. Thanks as always for watching and for all your comments and support!
