Glider contest flight in Logan, UT averaging 80mph - Part 10 of 10

July 21, 2010 Logan, Utah contest for sailplanes / gliders. Part 10 of 10 videos. This video shows that sometimes it is best to slow down in some parts of a cross country soaring flight in order to get the fastest total average speed.

Pilot Bruno Vassel IV (B4) is flying a 15 meter ASW-20B sailplane from Logan, Utah up into Idaho and back into Utah. The 2 hours of video were divided into 10 parts for easier viewing. This video shows flying around many of the most popular turn points of Logan Utah used for soaring contests including: Sedgwick Peak, Sherman Peak, Oxford Peak, Gun Sight Peak, the Wellsville Range, Willard Peak and the Logan Airport.

The 15 meter Nationals will be held in Logan Utah in 2011 and hopefully this video will help pilots who have not flown in this area to get at least a feel for the region. Thanks for watching and for your comments.
