Oricom DTX4200 UHF Radio Installation - How to install a UHF Radio to your 4X4
G'day Guys and Gals!
In this video i show you all of the steps necessary to install a UHF CB Radio to your 4x4 vehicle. I have chosen to fit an Oricom DTX4200 Dual Receive radio to my Isuzu MU-X. This UHF Radio is packed full of great features and is extremely easy to use.
The main features of the DTX4200 are as below :
-Heavy duty controller speaker microphone
-IP54 dust and splash resistant
-Dual receive
-Heavy duty diecast metal chassis
-12/24 volt operation
-3 memory groups of 16 channels per group
(PC programmable)
-Large 96 multi-colour backlit display
-Back light brightness (5 preset levels plus auto)
-Fast scanning 80 channels within 3 seconds
-Rotary volume/channel and squelch control
-Included in the pack; 2m microphone extension cable, slide in bracket and mounting hardware
-3.5mm external jack (for optional external speaker or PA adaptor)
As well as purchasing a good quality UHF Radio, you will also require a good quality aerial to be able to get the most out of your radio. I have chosen to run the Oricom Town and Country twin aerial pack. This pack includes a shorter 3dbi aerial and a longer 6.5dbi aerial extension which can easily be screwed onto the top of the 3dbi and spring base. The 3dbi aerial is great for communication in hilly terrain and the 6.5dbi aerial is great for long distance flat level ground communication.
In this video i show you the steps necessary to install a UHF Radio to your 4X4 vehicle and talk about some tips and tricks to take into account while carrying out the install.
