Mary Called Jeanie Greene: "Joa-Bim"

A few people around youtube have uploaded a few selections from Jeanie's 1971 LP album: "Mary Called Jeanie Greene", but they always seem to be a bit dismissive of what I feel is the most poignantly beautiful "gem" of the whole album.

While "Joa-Bim" was a secular love song written by Tippy Armstrong, it takes on a deeper - more spiritual meaning than original conceived. Jeanie's soulful, emotional - and wonderfully interpretive performance elevates our senses to a much higher plain - making us aware that the person she sings about is of an ethereal nature. I know this because Jeanie shared with me many years ago that she never viewed this song as being secular as much as it being an allegorical love letter to her savior, Jesus Christ!
