Built From Frustration: How Overlooked Needs Create Real Momentum | Natasha Caleel | TEDxMcMasterU

NOTE FROM TED: TEDx events are independently organized by volunteers. The guidelines we give TEDx organizers are described in more detail here: http://storage.ted.com/tedx/manuals/tedx_content_guidelines.pdf

Drawing on her lived experience as a new mother, Natasha Caleel recognized a gap in women's health that extended far beyond her own journey. Her talk encourages audiences to transform the challenges they encounter into meaningful change, inspiring solutions that benefit both themselves and others. Natasha Caleel deeply believes that the people closest to a problem are often best positioned to build its solution. This conviction shaped her transition from clinical practice to entrepreneurship after she struggled to find the support she needed as a new mother.

Over the past decade, Natasha has built Sage Society, a women’s fitness brand, from the ground up. What began as helping a few friends has grown into multiple fitness studios serving hundreds of women. Her work focuses on addressing the gaps the fitness industry has long overlooked, including pregnancy, postpartum recovery, perimenopause, and women’s health across every stage of life.

Drawing on both clinical expertise and lived experience, Natasha challenges other industries to ask: Who are we leaving out? Through her work, she hopes to inspire others to stop waiting for perfect solutions and begin building the solutions they wish already existed. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
