Chiffon Cake in Almond Flavor by Mai Goodness | Sponge Cake | Chiffon Cake Base | Mamon
A Chiffon Cake with almond flavor is one of my go to cake that you can also serve this holiday season. It can be made easily at home as it includes simple and complete instructions for beginners in baking. Bake this for your family or for your home baking business!
Chiffon Cake in Almond Flavor
Ingredients:
• 8 large (150g) egg yolks
• 1/2 cup (125ml) canola or vegetable oil
• 3/4 cup (200ml) orange soda like royal thru orange or pineapple juice
• 1/2 tsp almond extract (you can also use lemon, orange or vanilla)
• 3/4 cup (160g) white granulated sugar
• 2 1/4 cups (300g) cake flour, sifte twice
• 1 tbsp (10g) baking powder
• 1 tsp (5g) iodized salt
Meringue;
• 8 large (260g) egg whites
• 1/2 tsp (1g) cream of tartar
• 3/4 cup (160g) white granulated
*Use parchment paper on bottom part of the baking pan. Do not oil pan.
*Preheat oven at 160⁰C for 15 minutes.
*Bake for 50 to 60 mins at the middle rack only. Turn it around at 40 mins for even cooking and color.
*Cool upside down on a cooling rack making sure the rack does not touch the cake.
Baking Pan Size:
9 inch round baking pan or you can also use 10.5 x 14.5 x 3 inch rectangular pan
Costing:
Cost of ingredients = P124.50
Overhead cost (40% of ingredients cost for elect, fare, gas, water etc) = P49.80
Total Cost: P174.30
Yields: 2 round pans
Net Cost per piece = P87.15 x 1.7(tubo) = P148.15
Selling price per piece: P120 to P150 with packaging
