In the fast moving world of facilities, a good manager has his/her head on a swivel. However, there are some core items each facility manager should adhere to in their role. Danny breaks it down for us 👇

🔸 Help your team.
🔸 Help your operations partners
🔸 Help your vendor partners.

This is critical.

There are three tools to use in providing this assistance.

1⃣ Provide tools and information that help all 3 groups you support.

2⃣ Train, coach, teach, listen – this is ongoing and a staple of your role as a facility manager.

3⃣ Keep a positive attitude. Always applaud effort. You can teach improvement in the results, but you can't teach effort.

Mistakes happen, but always remember to learn from them. Each mistake can be a lesson that helps all of us become better. That is part of your role. Applaud effort, teach and support.

Work in your role to challenge, dare to be great, listen and help . Take the time to explain the "why" behind a decision that was made to help others understand.

Your role as a facility manager is to teach, listen, educate, be a helper, an advisor, and a doer. Multiple hats for an important job.
