Then a stop in St. Georges for the annual Peppercorn Ceremony in St. Georges – Governor the Rt. Hon. Lord Martonmere, police escort, and the Bermuda Regiment Troops and Regiment Band.
The Bermuda Peppercorn Ceremony is an event that occurs every year in April. King’s Square in the town of St. George is the site where the Masonic Brothers of Lodge St. George pay the annual rent of one peppercorn to the Governor. This rent is for the continued use of the Old State House, Bermuda’s oldest building which overlooks Kings Square.
