Kenya and Mozambique have deepened their partnership with new agreements on energy, trade, and security. President William Ruto hosted Mozambican President Daniel Chapo in Nairobi, where they signed three memoranda of understanding and announced deals worth $2.9 billion. The agreements include a direct sea corridor connecting Kenya’s Port of Mombasa with Mozambique’s ports, including Beira, aiming to improve regional trade, cut shipping costs, and enhance energy supply security, especially amid global disruptions caused by the West Asia crisis.
