Rare Great Indian Bustard Chick Born in Kutch After 10 Years | Firstpost | N18G

A Great Indian Bustard chick has hatched in Kutch after nearly 10 years, marking a major success for conservation efforts. The chick was born through ‘Operation Egg Transfer’, where a fertilised egg was brought from Rajasthan and placed in the nest of a local female using a special method called the ‘Jumpstart Approach’. Officials said this is a big breakthrough after years of failed breeding in the region. Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi called it a proud moment for wildlife conservation.
