Hiking in Switzerland | Gemmenalphorn via Niederhorn with Ibex | Swiss Alps Canton Bern | 2020 (4K)

Breathtaking hike with many Ibex sightings. We started our hike at Chüematte rest area near Beatenberg/Waldegg and followed the mountain trail to the Niederhorn. On the way we saw two Chamois and at the Niederhorn a group of Ibex. From there we continued to Burgfeldstand where we had our second close encounter of Ibex. From Burgfeldstand we continued our hike to the Gemmenalphorn. Just before the final ascent we had a stunning encounter with an impressiv male Ibex with big horns. Finally we ascended to the Gemmenalphorn, the destination of our hike. Throughout the entire hike we had a fantastic view on the famous mountain formation of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau and other peaks of the Bernese Alps.

Tour itinerary
Our hike starts at the Chüematte rest area (1691m). We follow the path uphill to Oberberg (1861m) and Oberburgfeld (1862m) and arrived at the Niederhorn (1964m). From here we continue via Püfel (1918m) and Burgfeldstand (2063m) to the Gemmenalphorn (2061m). Finally we make our way back down to Chüematte (1691m).
