Hiking in Switzerland | Augstmatthorn via Alp Horet | Swiss Alps Canton Bern | 2020 (4K-Video)

Breathtaking ridge hike to the Augstmatthorn with a majestic view on the famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau massif. We started our hike at the Lombachalp rest area. After a short way on the road the path started to climb to the alp Horet and further up to the Harder ridge. Once we reached the Harder ridge we had the famous mountains Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau in plain sight. We continued on the ridge until we reached the bases of the Suggiture. A intermediate peak on the way to the Augstmatthorn. After a steep and demanding ascent we arrived on top of the Suggiture. The view was absolutely stunning on the Bernese alps in the south and lake Brienz underneath. We then continued our hike on the very narrow mountain ridge trail with all the major peaks of the Bernese alps in plain sight. Soon we reached the summit of the Augstmatthorn, the goal of our hike. From there we followed the very steep trail back down into the valley until we came back to Lombachalp. were our hike ended.

Tour itinerary
Our hike starts at the Lombachalp rest area (1559m) and follows the path up to Alp Horet (1734m) and further to Harder ridge. We then continue on the Harder ridge trail to Suggiture (2085m) and all the way to Augstmatthorn (2137m). After a steep descent we arrive again on the Lombachalp rest area (1559m) where we started.
