Career Advice with MisterBilingue - Different types of job contracts in France

Different types of job contracts in ✨France✨

1. CDI - It means ‘contrat à durée indéterminée’, it is a permanent job contract. It’s the most common type of employment contract.

2. CDD - stands for ‘contrat à durée déterminée’. It is a temporary, fixed-term job contract. This type of contract doesn’t afford the employee the same type of long-term job security.

3. Stage - A ‘stage’ is a student internship that allows students to immerse themselves in a professional environment. In the UK it’s typically called ‘work experience placement’.

4. Alternance - This is an internship/apprenticeship. This contract is open to all young people aged between 16 and 29 who are studying at the same time. The student alternates (hence the name) between studies and their job.
