South Korea's liberal opposition groups have won a landslide majority in the country's general election on April 10, 2024, to retain control of parliament. The Democratic Party and smaller opposition parties jointly won 175 seats, while President Yoon Suk-yeol’s ruling People Power Party garnered 108 of 300 seats in the National Assembly. The vote is widely seen as a midterm referendum on President Yoon, who has three years left in office.
