FD RX7 Door Speaker Upgrade and Head Unit Installation Prep

It is time to finally tackle one of the projects I started 2 years ago when I picked up the FD RX7. The car came with nonfunctional stereo and blown speakers all around. In this video I replace the front door speakers and prep the wiring harness for the new Pioneer MVH-1400NEX head unit. I upgrade to 6.5” Pioneer KS speakers using aftermarket adapter brackets. I also splice the head unit’s wire harness into the factory harness wiring adapters. The new head unit is modern with a lot of features (e.g. Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, touch screen). As such, the head unit also features additional safety lockouts which require the car to be in park. In my case, I chose to bypass the parking brake sensor connector using a bypass switch.
