Princess Kako of Akishino or famously known as Princess Kako, was born on December 29, 1994. She is the second child of Prince Akishino and Princess Akishino and the second granddaughter of Akihito and Michiko.

In April 2001, Princess Kako took her primary education in Gakushuin and graduated in March 2007. In April 2007, Princess Kako entered the Gakushuin all-girls high school and graduated in 2012. In the same year, she spent time studying English at Dublin College.

In 2013, Princess Kako entered the Department of Education of Gakushuin University and studied at the university. However in August 2014, she opted out of Gakushuin and continued her studies at the International Christian University, majoring in Liberal Arts in April 2015, following a 9-month student exchange at the University of Leeds and graduating in 2019.

On December 29, 2014, Princess Kako turned 20, and saw her become an adult member of the Japanese Imperial Family. He will also appear publicly for the first time on Japanese New Year with other members of the imperial family. Princess Kako has an older sister, Princess Mako, and a younger brother, Prince Hisahito.

Like her mother Princess Kiko, Princess Kako also learns sign language. On February 1, 2015, the two attended a sign language performance of kyogen, played by a deaf actor. The Princess carried out her official duties as ambassadors for the Emperor on the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Austria and Hungary in September 2019.
