Born with the name, Catharina-Amalia Beatrix Carmen Victoria, Catharina-Amalia is the cheir to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Curaçao, Aruba and Sint Maarten. Her titles are Her Royal Highness Princess of Orange, Princess of the Netherlands, Princess Orange-Nassau.

Catharina-Amalia was born at Bronovo Hospital, The Hague, Netherlands on December 7, 2003 to king Willem-Alexanderand queen Máxima.

7-month-old Catharina-Amalia was baptized on June 12, 2004 at the Grote Sint-Jacobskerk in The Hague. She was baptized by Pastor C.A. Ter Linden.

Catharina-Amalia's maternal grandparents, Jorge Zorreguieta and Maríadel Carmen CerrutiCarricart, were barred from attending her parents' wedding in 2002 because of Zorreguieta's involvement in General Jorge Rafael Videla's regime, but were present at her christening, which is a private matter rather than a state affair.

Catharina-Amalia reportedly attend the Bloemcamp public school in Wassenaar. She begins her first day of high school at the Christelijk Gymnasium Sorghvliet in The Hague, Monday, August 24, 2015. The princess reportedly can speak Dutch, English and Spanish. Catharina-Amalia is the first in line to the throne of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
