#TomJones’, #lovechild, #makes, #desperate, #plea, #famous, #never /form Sir Tom Jones’s lovechild last night made a heartfelt plea to his ailing father: “Please let me see you before it is too late.”  Homeless busker Jonathan Berkery is desperate to visit the 78-year-old after the singer was laid low with a bug.  Superstar Sir Tom, a judge on The Voice, pulled out of a UK concert after coming down with a bacterial infection.  He is being treated in hospital and has promised fans to reschedule the cancelled show in Chester.  But 30-year-old Jonathan, who lives in a shelter in America and has never met his famous dad, told the Sunday Mirror: “He’s not well, I think he’s pushing himself too much.  “I reached out to his son Mark, my half brother, last year to see if I could arrange a meeting.  “Now I refuse to wait – I want to see my dad and make my peace with him.  “When I was younger, I was angry and confused. I didn’t want to see him. But now I worry about him constantly.  “When his wife Linda passed I hoped we could finally meet and get to know each other but it didn’t happen.  “Now I worry about him being ill. He’s old, he might pass before I get the chance to right the wrongs. I don’t want anything from my father, all I want to do is sit and talk, tell him about my life and ask about his – just normal stuff.”  Sir Tom was 47 when he had a three-day fling in New York with 24-year-old model Katherine Berkery. She had no idea he was married and he reportedly refused to return her phone calls when she discovered she was pregnant.  Instead his assistant allegedly told her: “That’s showbiz darling, do what you have to do.”  DNA tests proved Sir Tom – who boasted of sleeping with 250 women a year at the height of his fame – was Jonathan’s father and he was ordered to pay £1,700-a-month maintenance.  As a child Jonathan learned to sing all of Sir Tom’s hits, including Delilah and It’s Not Unusual, and believed his career kept his dad too busy to visit.  But he said: “When I got older I got more and more angry with him. I started hanging out with older guys, looking for a father figure.  “In 2008 he finally gave an interview acknowledging me but said my mother had tricked him. It wasn’t true and it really hurt.  “I got into drugs – cocaine and ecstasy. I was trying to numb the pain.  “I used to fantasise about going to one of his concerts and disrupting it or anonymously auditioning for The Voice and giving him the finger when he swivelled round in his judge’s chair.  “But I’ve straightened myself out now and mellowed. I just want to see my father before it is too late.”  Jonathan, who earns money busking in Hoboken, New Jersey, is an aspiring singer who uses the name Jon Jones.  But he cannot afford to fly to Britain on the off-chance his father will see him.  However he intends to send another email to his half-brother Mark, who is Sir Tom’s manager, asking for a meeting.  He added: “Last year my father cancelled concerts because he had a hip replacement.
