After THAT Strictly kiss, here's why Katya and Neil will never break up - Daily News
#AfterTHATStrictly, #kiss, #here, #Katya, #Neil, #will, #never, #break   The day after *that* kiss, Neil Jones appeared to shake it off the idea of the Strictly Curse, and didn’t seem concerned his wife was smooching her dance partner on the show.  So what’s the history of their relationship?  The couple are both dancers, and met in 2008 in a dance tournament in Blackpool. Russian-born Katya found herself partner-less at the competition, so a dance coach paired her up with German-born Neil.  She said previously: “When I split with my partner, we already had a trip booked to dance at Blackpool. So I decided to go anyway.  "I went with my mum. I actually did not plan any try-outs as nobody really knew who I was.”  There was chemistry straight away between the couple - both on and off the dancefloor - and they began dating.   They married in 2013, and filmed an all-singing, all-dancing video of the day.  Earlier this year, they celebrated their fifth anniversary earlier with a trip to Cuba – and hinted that there could be planning babies next.  Katya said: “It is in the very near future, but I don’t want to plan.”  They are World Latin Showdance Champions and also four times undefeated British National Professional Champions.  They joined Strictly as pro-dancers in 2016. Neil is yet to be put on the A-team and partnered with a celeb, but he is a choreographer and regular participant in the group routines.  Katya made her dynamite dancefloor debut with Ed Balls - and THAT Gangnam Style routine, which blew up online.   The pair lasted ten weeks before being voted off. However Katya returned in 2017 when she was partnered with Joe McFadden – and the pair went all the way to the Glitterball trophy in last year’s final.  They have also launched their own interactive clothing line, The Joneses Apparel.  The couple recently shared secrets as to why their partnership worked and it was down to supporting each other. “It doesn’t feel like work, we just enjoy it so much”, Katya said.  Neil said: “We're so used to each other. We’ve been together for over ten years - what started out as just a dancing partnership bloomed into a relationship. We’ve always supported each other. That’s how we stop the arguments, we support.”  “Obviously our whole lives are connected to each other, we’re married, we’ve got a little dog,' Katya added.  “We've got a career together and we have to perform together, but at the same time we have to give each other space too, for me to do my own thing and Neil to take time to choreograph and be creative - we have to take time to allocate those roles.”  Neil has spoken about who he’d like to be paired with, if he was partnered with a celebrity - and it’s a surprising choice.  He said: “There's always talk about whether there would be a man-man couple,' he said.  “I always joke around that if BBC production ever did decide [to do it] then it would be Keith Lemon, and it would be the two redheads together. That would be hilarious.”
