Funky Track in B major (100 bpm)

in the Key of B Major but sticking specifically to a B7 chord, it is essentially shifting the "vibe" from a bright, happy major sound to a Bluesy, Funk sound.

In B Major, using a B7 (B - D# - F# - A) instead of a Bmaj7 (B - D# - F# - A#) adds a bluesy or driving tension because of the A natural.

Scale to use:

- B Mixolydian: The B Major scale has an A#, but a B7 chord has an A natural. To make your melodies fit the chord, you must change that one note.
The Scale: B - C# - D# - E - F# - G# - A

-Mix in the "Blues" Notes: Even though you are in a Major context, the B7 allows you to use the B Minor Pentatonic or B Blues Scale over it.

The Trick: Try playing a D natural and quickly sliding or bending it up to a D#. This "clash" between the minor 3rd and major 3rd is the secret to that classic soulful sound.

- Spice up the Chord (Extensions)
Don't just play a "plain" B7. Add "color" notes to change the flavor without changing the key:

-B9 (Add C#): Makes it sound Funky. Perfect for James Brown-style rhythms.
-B13 (Add G#): Gives it a Jazz or Bossa Nova sophistication.
-B7sus4 (Replace D# with E): Creates a "floating" or "dreamy" tension that eventually wants to resolve back to the regular B7.

Have fun ;)
