But a recent report from the Government Accountability Office (GAO), a government watchdog group, found that the weekly results are: "flawed estimates of the number of individuals receiving benefits each week throughout the pandemic."

The GAO also stated: "The majority of states have been paying PUA claimants the minimum allowable benefit instead of the amount they are eligible for based on prior earnings."

While we will still continue to report on the weekly jobs reports, we’ll also be sure to make note of any potentially flawed information or inaccuracies from the Department of Labor.

Meanwhile, sources close to President Elect Joe Biden have offered some insight on where he currently stands on further stimulus and extended enhanced unemployment benefits.

While we’ve heard him say that he wants another stimulus package “this week,” it’s unfortunately looking more likely by the day that we won’t see more unemployment benefits until Biden takes over the White House.

Fortunately, it looks like the President Elect is on board for another stimulus package targeting unemployment benefits could be in the works from Day 1.

Sources are hinting at Biden potentially taking executive action to pass temporary unemployment benefits, much like President Trump did with FEMA funds back in September.

If Biden can find the funding to make temporary extended unemployment benefits available on January 22nd, this would be an amazing bridge between the time funds ran out, and the approval of a new stimulus package.

Finally, here’s the story of a woman from the great state of Wisconsin that finally received her unemployment funds after waiting for over 7 months.

A local news team spoke with the woman nearly 2 months ago, when she was still waiting to hear from her unemployment office over her months of delayed benefits.

When the news team followed up with her this week, her situation had changed significantly.

She explained that she received nearly $20,000 in delayed unemployment payments and stated: "After I received that money, things got a lot better."

She continued: "Just keep going. It's your money. You absolutely deserve it and you fight for it. There's always brighter days ahead. Just keep going."

Since I’ve heard stories like this from countless people in the comments, it’s important to stay vigilant and dedicated to receiving the unemployment benefits you deserve.

If you still haven’t applied for unemployment assistance, visit your state’s PUA or UI website, give them your employment history, and let them know that you’re currently out of work due to that thing out there.
