Alex Weber - Voivod - Obsolete Beings

I usually get a very limited amount of time to explore all of the tones of most of the commissioned basses that I build however, I very quickly found out that this bass sounds REALLY good played with a pick. I'm absolutely more of a fingerstyle or slap player but I almost liked the pick tone of this bass more than it's fingerstyle tone! It's pretty much the only bass I've made that was like that so it was definitely an interesting time getting to know it.

I've wanted to make a video of a Voivod tune for a while now and just like my last video, it was REALLY hard to pick just one tune to do... I may be in the minority here but their last album, The Wake, is what fully opened the door for my journey into their music. I had always had Killing Technology, Dimension Hatross, etc.. and had always liked them but there was something about the writing on The Wake that just made everything else in their discography click for me. Hearing this album (and specifically this song) when it first came out was such a lightbulb moment for me that it only felt right to make this video.
