Belly dancing is sexy, fun, and burns up a lot of calories to boot! In this video, belly dancer Irina Akulenko teaches you how to do wrist circles. You'll be shaking it like Shakira in no time.
So now we're going to learn how to do wrist isolations and wrist circles.
Bring the hand out. And now you are going to try to keep the wrist in exactly the same spot and draw circles, leading with the middle finger and going away from your body. Pointing all the way down, coming over to the side, and lifting all the way up. And when you lift up, that's when the hand will flip over. And then again. Going all the way out, and down, and up. You want to keep the wrist relatively still and focus on drawing these circles.
You can reverse the direction. So right now we went away from the body; now you're going to start going inward first. Going in, and up. And in; out; and up. So now we're going to do both at the same time. Bring the hands out. Let's start with inward circles. We're going to bring the hand facing palms in, down, out, and up. And down. And let's reverse it. Going out first. And let's try it with music and we're going to move our hands down and up.
And let's reverse the rotation. Going inward first. And once again, going up. And the other way. And that's how you isolate the wrists.
