Hi, I'm Dr. Melissa McHale and I'm answering questions about endometriosis. One of the questions we've is can you get pregnant with endometriosis? The answer is for many patients, yes, but there are different pathways to pregnancy depending on the person. So sometimes pregnancy can be achieved naturally for a patient who doesn't have infertility with endometriosis.

For some patients, they may have infertility with endometriosis and after surgery they're still able to conceive naturally. Some patients have either enough structural damage from endometriosis or other reasons that they may need things like IVF in order to become pregnant. It's something that's very individualized, and the treatment for every patient is different.

So I can't give a more specific answer, but I would encourage you, if you have endometriosis and are thinking about fertility, to talk to an endometriosis specialist about what approach is most likely to be successful for you.
