MYTH or TRUTH? Left Lane Is Always A Passing Lane Everywhere

In this video, I explore the widespread belief that everywhere, the left lane is pretty much always for passing only. Find out if that belief is myth or truth. I investigate the left lane laws and passing lane laws of various states, even getting into details about the HOV (carpool) lanes, the middle lanes of freeways, expressways and interstates, whether those count as passing lanes too. Then I explore commonly agreed upon left lane etiquette, the controversy and varying opinions on proper left lane use, what transportation and driving authorities recommend and how the laws are sometimes incongruent with common beliefs.

Please note: My referring to "left lane activists" was not meant as a pejorative or meant as a degrading label. A "left lane activist" simply refers to someone who is extremely passionate about what they feel is proper left lane etiquette; a highly vocal critic of those they perceive are abusing the left lane. I'm not saying they're always wrong, just that sometimes they can be a bit overly critical of those using the left lane that either might not be breaking the law OR violating the commonly agreed upon left lane etiquette, OR both.
