Leman HESENO (Civil Diplomacy Center, the Autonomous Administration of North and East of Syria)
Biography:
John Restakis has been active in the co-op movement for 25 years. He is the former Executive Director of the Community Evolution Foundation and the BC Co-operative Association. John is also a Co-founder of Synergia Co-operative Institute. A practitioner and a pioneering researcher into international cooperative economies, he writes and lectures on economic democracy and the role of cooperatives in humanizing economies. In 2018, John visited Rojava and highlights the case of stateless democracy in Rojava in his book, Civilizing the State – Reclaiming Politics for the Common Good. John is the author of Humanizing the Economy: Co-operatives in the Age of Capita, and lives in Vancouver, BC.
Muhammad Hassan is a member of the administrative committee of the Department of Foreign Affairs in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. He has a doctorate degree in education specialized in Syllabuses, and teaching methods from Damascus University in 2009.
Leman Heseno is a member of the civil diplomacy center in the north and east of Syria, and a former vice co-president of the economic department in Algazeera region in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. She has a degree in economics from Damascus University in 2019.
