I've met with many couples and have known many couples who were married outside of their age comfort zone in both directions. I met with one couple who needed some help and the difference between them was almost 30 years. The man was 30 years younger than her. The idea of marriage has been lost in our world. We don't understand it. We think there's a compatibility aspect that is very important. It's not. It is if you want to have a mundane marriage and be kind of happy go through life with a companion, a partner. And in that case the age difference between you and your future wife does matter. But the real idea of marriage is that it's a union between two souls because you are a soul. She's a soul and that connection is what we call love and the thing that you're striving for in marriage.

The principal reason to get married is to learn to love unconditionally because when you love unconditionally the result is happiness, pure and simple. Everything else in the world produces fleeting happiness at best but when you express love unconditionally what it's doing is it's chipping away at the ego and letting the soul which is pure joy to come to your consciousness
and fulfill you. In that case, how could age possibly matter, and it doesn't. However, I'm going to say that if you don't understand marriage, if you don't understand yourself as the combination of body, mind and soul. If you don't understand your partner as body, mind and soul conditioned
somewhat by their particular and your particular biology you're going to get into trouble because
you don't have the tools with which to gain this joyful union that I'm talking about.

So by all means, it isn't a problem but if you don't understand marriage yourself and your future spouse it will be a problem. marriage and you're not just walking into something based on, "Well, I don't know because she's older than me." That really is like such a small thing. After a while, the age aspect disappears anyway unless you're living a mundane life and why would you get married if that's all you want.
