"My Fiance Doesn't Trust Me" | Paul Friedman

Trust is something that is very difficult to have in this world. We live in a world that is frankly out to get you. Almost everybody wants a piece of your action. They take from rich, they take from poor, they take from middle class, they take what's laying around, they don't mind if a bank makes a mistake on the statement and they keep the money. They have to count the change it's a tough world. Let's be really honest about that. So, who can expect someone anyone to trust universally but when you're going to get married you're going, "Well, this is part of why I'm getting married because I want to be in a trusting relationship." And it could be both men or women, it doesn't matter. Trust is difficult. So what happens is when you do get married you're forming a pact but look at it as you're walking into this bubble called the sacred space of marriage. I coined that phrase because it's sacred. It's one that both of the individuals getting into it should have the highest honor for it. Loyalty is the highest law for guarding that and trust is important but it is much more important to trust over time to let that trust build not beat yourself up or the other for not having total trust. On the other hand, there's some who are so suspicious. Those people should keep it to themselves. You don't want to let someone know you don't trust them because then you're calling them a liar.
