This relatively small show was originally supposed to take place in Nice, but was changed to Frejus, with Freddie not even finding out about the switch until the day of the show. Despite him not showing up to the soundcheck and even arriving late to the gig, he sounds phenomenal tonight, perhaps putting in his greatest overall performance on the Magic Tour. He gives what is probably his best vocal rendition of Who Wants to Live Forever (in the face of Brian's guitar going out of wack), nails Another One Bites the Dust to perfection, and even attempts one of the high C's in We Are the Champions. Roger is playing with much enthusiasm tonight as well, echoing his former, adventurous self that seemed to disappear after The Game era. On this upload, given the nature of outdoor recordings, I have added a bit of compression, reverb, and EQ in hopes of making the best sounding version of this show so far.
