Aircraft participating in Atlantic Trident 2017 at Joint Base Langley-Eustis get ready for their Friday afternoon exercise and operations. Members of invited media were treated to a ramp-side photo opportunity to photograph a large number of aircraft departing Langley's Runway 26 in excellent lighting conditions. This video features all but three aircraft that took to the skies during our stay on the ramp. Multiple F-15E Strike Eagles from two squadrons based at Mountain Home AFB in Idaho were a real treat to see as they were not originally billed to appear. Representing the Royal Air Force were a host of Eurofighter Typhoons. Representing the French Air Force were a host of Dassault Rafales. Also representing the United States Air Force were F-22 Raptors and T-38 Talons from the 1st Fighter Wing at Langley and a contingent of F-35A Lightning IIs from the 33rd Fighter Wing at Eglin AFB in Florida. All of these aircraft and multiple examples of each aircraft listed are featured in this video with some taxiing by and most seen taking off from Runway 26.

While there were a few other invited guests filming, this is the only video that features both the departures and a feed from the tower.

ABOUT ATLANTIC TRIDENT 2017:
ATLANTIC TRIDENT 2017, hosted by the 1st Fighter Wing, focuses on air operations in a highly contested operational environment through a variety of complex, simulated adversary scenarios. The goal of the exercise is to enhance interoperability through combined coalition aerial campaigns. This exercise is one of the first to focus on greater integration of U.S. Air Force's fifth-generation capabilities.

ATLANTIC TRIDENT 2017 will feature the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II; the RAF Eurofighter Typhoon; and the FAF Dassault Rafale. U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles and T-38 Talons will play the roles of adversary aircraft. U.S. Air Force E-3 Sentry and KC-10 Extender aircraft will also provide support during the exercise. Approximately 225 U.S. Air Force, 175 RAF and 150 FAF service members will participate in the exercise.
