What happened this April? - Lots of bees, rain, and a new baby on our Portuguese homestead

We're back! After a short hiatus we're back to making videos about our life here on our homestead in Central Portugal. Lots happened this April, so here's a selection of exciting events. The bees are super active at the moment, making it possible for us to split our existing hives and catch a few swarms from our neighbour (with his permission of course). As the Portuguese say "Abril aguas mil", so we also had lots of very heavy rain and even some hail. Gardening season is right underway, so I'm also getting back to planting for summer. And not to forget, the newest addition to the family, little Bo! He was born on April 12th and is doing fantastic. Enjoy!

New here? My name is Lea and I live with my partner Maarten and our toddler Puck on our land in Central Portugal. We left the rat race in the Netherlands in 2018 and moved south in our old campervan. Two years ago we bought land in Portugal that had been abandoned for several decades. After lots of hard work we now live in a beautiful yurt and keep ourselves busy growing our own vegetables as well as producing olive oil, wine and honey on a small scale.
