Foxes and badgers take turns to use new sett, badgers hunt, play; foxes enter sett and also play

The new badger sett in our garden in #Stroud, #Gloucestershire, has been a hive of activity during August, with lots of interesting behaviour recorded by my camera-trap. Here are some highlights - a badger I've named Goitre (because of a lump on the neck, though might just be an abscess) digs in front of the camera and apparently catches a small mammal, maybe a vole. Lots of digging in the sett entrance too, then a couple of nights later a fox entered the sett. More badger behaviour, foraging, playing - maybe a prelude to courting - and at one point THREE badgers can be seen. Then a series of fox videos around 7.30pm - first one pops its head out of the sett, then two are playing - one with a white tip to the tail, so I've named them White-tip and Black-tip. Will be interesting to see how this inter-species time-share continues - not yet seen them at the same time - just wish I could see what is happening underground...
